The Art of Liquor Display: Tips and Tricks for Utilizing Floating Shelves

liquor on lighted floating shelves

Picture your favorite suave bar. What comes to mind? Probably intimate lighting, wood accents, a cool, low-key atmosphere, and your favorite liquors and spirits lining the wall. The only things that could make it better might be enjoyable company and the comfort of sweatpants (if that's your thing).

If we told you that you could have all this in the comfort of your own home, would you believe us? Because you can! Whether you’d like to create an entire home bar setup or you’d just like to have a small area to display your liquor, the utilization of floating shelves is the perfect way to complete the space.

Lighted Floating Shelves

One of the most popular types of floating shelves on the market are lighted floating shelves. These shelves come with built-in lighting that illuminates your liquor bottles, creating a beautiful and dramatic effect. The lighting brings your collection to life, making it the focal point of your bar. They work especially well in a dimly lit bar, giving your space an added touch of ambiance. Plus, with the added visibility of the bottles, it's easier for guests to select their drink of choice.

Walnut Floating Shelves

Another popular option for floating shelves are walnut floating shelves. Walnut is a durable and beautiful wood that adds warmth and richness to any space. The natural beauty of the wood grain makes walnut floating shelves a classic and timeless choice for a home bar. They work well in both traditional and modern spaces, and can complement a variety of interior design styles.

Making Your Home Bar Look Amazing

Floating shelves are an excellent way to showcase your liquor collection, but they can also be used to add a decorative touch to your bar. Depending on the style of your bar, you can use the shelves to display other items, such as glassware or bar accessories. Adding small plants or other decorative elements can also help to visually break up the space.

When arranging your liquor bottles on the shelves, think about the order in which you want them displayed. You can organize them alphabetically, by color, or by type of liquor. Consider grouping similar bottles together, such as all tequilas or all scotches, to create a cohesive display. Additionally, consider adding labels or tags to the bottles to make it easier for guests to find their preferred drink.

Utilizing floating shelves in your home bar can help elevate its aesthetic and make your liquor collection the focal point of the space. Lighted floating shelves can add an extra layer of drama and ambiance, while walnut floating shelves bring a classic and timeless touch to any space. When arranging your bottles, think about the order in which you want them displayed and consider adding decorative elements to your shelves. With these tips and tricks, your home bar can become a stylish and functional place for entertaining guests and unwinding after a long day.

Hey Mike! The weight limit depends mostly on installation. We recommend installing into studs wherever possible. There are also toggler bolts, if it isn’t possible to hit studs.
We can do any size you need! :) We have many standard sizes available online, but if you need something that you don’t see online, just reach out to us at customerservice@jthomashome.com and we’ll be glad to get you a quote! :) All of our shelves can come either hardwired or with a battery powered option :)
For the layout, we’d recommend getting some painter’s tape and mapping out where you’d like the shelves to be. From there, you can get a good visual of how long you’d like each shelf to be and how many shelves you’ll need :)
Feel free to send us any photos of the space to customerservice@jthomashome.com, we’d be glad to take a look and offer some suggestions! :)

What is the weight limit of the floating shelves?
What sizes do they come in?
Do the lighted shelves come as a plug in or only battery operated?
Do you have design layout recommendations for a space. The one I have is 4’ 3” wide by 1’ deep by 8 plus feet high. It is located next to the front door.

    Thank you
